Founded in 1918, the New Jersey Coalition of Automotive Retailers (NJ CAR) is a mission-driven, non-profit trade association representing 500+ franchised car and truck retailers across the state. NJ CAR advocates for smart, pro-business public policy and provides cutting-edge industry intelligence, legislative updates, and operational support to its members.

The NJ CAR Association department is looking for a tech-savvy, detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to join our team. This individual will play a key role in supporting office operations and cross-functional teams with administrative expertise and digital proficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a key support resource for day-to-day administrative and operational functions.
• Draft, format, proofread, and edit business correspondence, reports, and presentation materials.
• Assist with planning and coordinating meetings, conferences, and events—including board meetings and travel logistics.
• Manage and maintain digital records and databases; ensure data integrity across platforms (CRM, Excel, SharePoint, etc.).
• Organize digital and physical file systems using cloud-based storage tools and document management best practices.
• Collaborate across departments to streamline workflows and improve administrative processes.
• Support ad hoc projects involving research, scheduling, communications, and reporting.

Required Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional administrative or office management experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 , including Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas) , Word (mail merges, formatting templates) , and Outlook .
• Comfortable navigating and learning new platforms (e.g., CRMs, scheduling tools, data entry systems).
• Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-starter with a proactive mindset and a team-first attitude.
• Professionalism, discretion, and reliability in all interactions and responsibilities.
• Familiarity with virtual meeting platforms like Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

Work Location: This is an in-person assignment at the NJ CAR office, 856 River Road, Trenton NJ.
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
Salary : $48,000 to $50,000 a year, plus a gererous benefits package,
