About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to join our dynamic Project Management Team. This entry-level role will support Project Managers in planning, directing, and coordinating various construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start their career in project management.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Administration:

  • Assist in managing projects from pre-planning through to completion, including estimating, cost tracking, vendor and subcontractor management, billing, and project documentation.
  • Collaborate with field supervision to identify work opportunities, manage obstacles, and ensure project progress.
  • Manage and grow customer relationships through excellent customer service.
  • Work closely with Project Managers on daily tasks such as coordination of projects, submittals, RFIs, estimates, and various other duties.

Project Documentation:

  • Create and manage shop drawings and submittals using construction management software.
  • Maintain digital job folders and documentation.

Communication & Coordination:

  • Collaborate extensively with the in-house management and engineering teams.
  • Attend and contribute to project meetings, both internal and external.
  • Be proactive in identifying and resolving project-related issues.

Budget & Cost Tracking:

  • Assist in producing financial projections and managing overall cost and budgeting.
  • Work with the Accounting department on billing and vendor/subcontractor invoice review.

Contract Administration:

  • Assist in preparing estimates and cost analyses for contractual scopes, change orders, and bid estimate analysis.

Schedule Management:

  • Assist in projecting manpower needs on a weekly basis.

Material Management:

  • Identify and track materials needed for projects to ensure project budgets are met.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field preferred but not required.
  • Entry-level position; 1-3 years of experience in estimating and/or project managing construction projects is a plus.
  • Experience in the industrial electrical field is a plus.
  • Experience in relevant construction software (Procore, Bluebeam, CAD) is a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and construction drawings is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and prioritize work effectively.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to maintain positive client relationships.
