Overview Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer – Power systems — Permanent • Austin, TX – Onsite • $160,000 Join a tight-knit, experienced engineering team designing and building mission-critical UPS systems in Austin. This is a newly created role at a global manufacturer whose technology keeps critical infrastructure running 24/7 in data centers, healthcare, transport, and defense. Their systems provide clean, battery-free backup power using advanced flywheel energy storage technology, a greener, longer-lasting alternative to traditional UPS batteries. What You’ll Do Design, maintain, and enhance embedded firmware for power control systems. Write and optimize C code for real-time applications. Troubleshoot and resolve field issues (e.g., Modbus communication, bearing failure detection). Collaborate with FPGA, hardware, and mechanical engineers on integrated solutions. Support both new product features and ongoing product maintenance. What We’re Looking For Multiple years of embedded firmware experience. Strong background in C programming for embedded microprocessor systems. Experience with real-time operating systems. Background in power electronics or similar control systems.
